*Bring a new can of balls each week. Winner keeps the unopened can.
*
Don’t wait to be called. Take action and intiate a call / email with a few options for times to play so your opponent can respond with scheduled match time.
*Don’t fall too far behind on your schedule of match play. Call ahead to play future matches in advance if possible. If you know you will be out of town play your match in advance.
*Don’t make the league organizers babysit your schedule. If you fall more than 3 weeks behind we will assign L / forfeits to bring you up to the current schedule.
*Since Kirk and Phil are Judge and Jury in the league, present concerns and or complaints with tact. Bribes will be considered.
Match play is one 10 game pro-set. (Ten game pro set works out to be about two sets)
If you reach 9 games all, play a 12pt tie breaker (best of 12 pts / or race to seven win by two for those of you who have been mis naming a 12pt tie break for your entire tennis career). Overall league winner will be based on W/L record but in the event of a 3 way tie, total of least games lost during the season will break the tie. In the event of a two way tie… will be broken by results of head to head match results during the league season.
After you complete the ten game pro set, you and your partner may want to play more singles, however please only report the ten game pro set score.
This shorter format will make it easier to look forward to getting your match done each week. The masterminds of the league realized a 2 of 3 set match each week would surely fail as it would be hard to motivate scheduling potentially a 3 hour singles match in the heat of the summer. Also the shorter format should reduce heart attacks and heat strokes.
